This new technology takes advantage of the conjunction of the GPS technologies and the electronic ID card for the location of people identified by the DNIe, including the technologies Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GSM, GPRS and UMT for the sending of information. They are used for the transmission of information and the utilization of each one of them differs from conditions of coverage.
Description of the technology
A research group from the Computation Department of Alcalá University has developed an electronic device in which, inserting the electronic ID card of a person, the location and recognition of this person is obtained in the different areas of a building. This allows a major control of the people that enter and go out of the dependences of a building, managing also the access to certain restricted areas.
Specifications
The system consists of an electronic, mobile and autonomous device focused in the location of people that has been before identified by means of the utilization of the new electronic ID card. The device offers services of positioning by means of the utilization of the technology GPS, recognition of people across the electronic ID card and the storage of information (followed routes, places of interest, doors or acceded spaces, etc.). All this information is gathered and stored in the same center of control in a centralized way, in order that the positioning of all the mobile operative devices could be showed in real time. In addition there is allowed the creation of restricted zones being able to detect if a person has acceded to a place in which he/she did not have permissions of access. In case of this situation the center of control will emit alerts with the hour, name, surnames and number of the ID card of the person who has acceded to a restricted zone. In addition it allows the detection of possible frauds against the device or the detection of an badly functioning of the device, since if the center of control does not detect any sign of the mobile operative devices during a stipulated time, it will emit an alert. There are several versions of this mobile device that will be applied according to the area of action: opened field, interior offices or big industrial premises. Depending on the area to be controlled, it will be used the version more appropriate to the environment, or a combination of them, in order to be sure of a right control and follow-up of the devices. Other technologies include in the technology are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GSM, GPRS and UMT.
