Method to generate real-time high resolution imagery of a 360 scene. The data from multiple high resolution digital cameras is stitched into a single live panoramic/hemispherical image. It is possible to zoom in on areas of the image to view more detail.
Benefits & Advantages
It is possible to view a real-time image of a very wide surveillance area. Other benefits are the use of a single display for the image and the possibility of using a low-cost GPU to do a large amount of the data processing. The use of a GPU negates the requirement for very expensive custom image processing hardware.
