The proposed solution offered is an AI assisted Regulatory Watch tool powered by a custom language model trained by domain experts. Its smart search allows to query a set of experts-curated and domain-relevant sources. Through this tool, it is possible to get insight from thousands of regulatory relevant documents up to 60 times faster compared to manual regulatory watch activities.
The global and local environmental policies and regulations landscape is constantly changing, and stakeholders are lacking time to maintain policy knowledge base and compliance. Searching for emerging policy content to remain up to date on the field is time consuming (requiring at least 4 hours/week/expert), however it constitutes an important part of a policy experts work. This process could be optimised with new, AI powered technologies that allow a targeted search based on the needs and the domain of the expert.

Benefits:
The PolicyCompass tool leverages the power of AI to analyse various information sources curated by experts. A custom AI model trained by domain experts allows the tool to correctly identify and extract from the ingested documents regulatory specific concepts. End users are provided with a web interface to query the extracted knowledge and quickly gain insight about specific topics relevant to their field of expertise.
Applications :
- Policymakers (identification of policy gaps and overlaps, policy trends)
- Regulatory helpdesks
- Research institutions (increasing amount of funding applications ask for regulatory reviews)
- Corporates (manufacturers, suppliers, consultants, etc.)
Opportunity :
We are looking for opportunities to further develop (and eventually commercialize) the currently elaborated AI model together with a user interface (POC).
