Inertization is a physical-chemical process that allows modifying the leaching characteristics of waste. In the leachate´s case from the dump and other similar liquids, it makes them a solid that is easy to handle and suitable for management in MSW landfills or other applications.
The inerting of leachates from reverse osmosis or evaporation plants consists of mixing these concentrates with the appropriate reagents, generally in powder form, to give rise to an inert solid product by chemical reaction.
DPI technology.
Dispersed phase inertization is a process based on dividing both the liquid and solid flow (reagents) into small drops and particles in order to facilitate the reactions that take place to guarantee product quality with less reagent consumption difference from other technologies.
Unlike other technologies on the market, its electricity consumption is very low and it usually uses a waste heat stream (flue gas) to develop the process. In the case of landfills, the exhaust gases from biogas engines are usually used.
