They have developed a sterile, stable plant extract and extraction procedure that concentrates phenyl ethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC) as well as the naturally occurring urease inhibitors and have a patent pending on the extraction process. PEITC is currently being researched for its role in regulating inflammation and beneficial epigenetic modifications against various forms of cancer. Urease inhibitors act on the bacterial urease enzyme which converts urea to ammonia and is implicated in a range of pathological conditions including nappy rash, Helicobacter Pylori survival, amongst others. As a by-product they have created a protein/fibre extract rich in amino acids that they are also looking to commercialise.
