An Academic Partner is looking for an industry partner to work in the development of nanomaterial-based water technologies and biofouling-resistant coatings.
They study biological interactions of engineered nanomaterials, such as graphene oxide (GO) with biocidal activity, as a promising technology for antibacterial surfaces. They recently reported the first direct measurements of bacterial adhesion forces on GO-functionalized interfaces, showing that the nanoscale morphology of GO coatings has profound implications for adhesiveness. They also work on the mode of bacterial attachment to polymeric membrane surfaces in biofouling and have experience in modeling aqueous systems using molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo techniques.
