The lab focuses on techniques for Lipid analysis, like total lipid quantification and analysis of lipid species like fatty acids, triglycerides, phospholipids,etc. using chromatography systems such as HPLC, GC and TLC.
Services offered: Identification and quantification of total lipids and specific lipid classes in different animals (blood, liver, brain, adipose tissue, and intracellular membranes), vegetable and unicellular model samples, as well as food or food components; Lipid analysis and quantification of individual fatty acids like saturated,Omega3 and others and determinations of desaturase activities; Design of diets with specific lipid content for particular experimental models.
