Roll stock to make the packages can be sourced from the film converter of your choice. If needed, General can recommend potential suppliers.
The cap assemblies, A.K.A. spout assembles, are manufactured by a major supplier of this type of product and will be stocked in Houston.
The ongoing needs for source reduction and cost reductions creates a demand for packaging innovations. Flexible packaging, that is bags and pouches, requires the least resources and is the most economical of all packages.
Reclosable premade Standup bags are readily available for consumer sized liquid packages. However, premade bags are relatively expensive. In the packaging operation they are labor intensive. There is a solution to these problems: the Standing Bag™, a patented package.
Standing Bags are made and filled on automatic packaging systems using continuous roll stock, the least expensive of all packaging materials. The caps are applied to the bags as they are made. A bottom folder completes forming of the Standing bags so they will stand on the store shelf.

General has manufactured vertical form fill seal machines since 1954, machines for packaging liquids in bags since 1963 and machines applying dispensing devices to liquid filled bags since 1978.

With a few outsourced exceptions, designing and manufacturing of its products are done in-house in General’s single facility in Houston, Texas.
