- David LokhatI hold an MSc (cum laude) and PhD in chemical engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. My research area for post-graduate studies was chemical reaction engineering and reactor technology. My primary research interests are in process intensification in reactor technology and mass contactors. My research group consists of a number of postgraduate and undergraduate students, all highly motivated and engaged in a variety of projects dealing with chemical reactor design and optimization, reaction kinetics, chemical process development and more recently, the development of advanced materials for applications in chemical reaction and separation processes. I was the recipient of the 2013 South African Institution of Chemical Engineers Innovation award, which recognizes outstanding and innovative contributions to the profession or industry. I also serve as President of the South African Institution of Chemical Engineers and am a rated scientist with the National Research Foundation of South Africa. In 2019 I was awarded a Royal academy of Engineering Leaders in Innovation Fellowship for my research work, and at the beginning of 2020 I was appointed as an adjudicator for the NSTF-South32 Awards, the national awards for the science and technology sector in the country.

CEO at Varigen Biosciences from United States
Company Description Varigen Biosciences is an early stage synthetic biology company whose mission is to develop advanced technologies for genome/metagenome mining and over-production of small molecule drugs. The company is developing revolutionary products for the sequence specific capture, amplification, over-expression and sequencing of long DNA (20-100 Kb) to dramatically simplify the production of natural products. These breakthrough technologies could disrupt the status quo of numerous genomics, next gen sequencing and drug discovery applications. We are using these breakthrough technologies to enable academic, biotech and biopharma partners to accelerate bioactive compound and drug development. - David miller

In most cases, SAS Check In refers to the procedure wherein a passenger arrives at an airport and goes through a series of processes to authenticate their attendance for a trip run by Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). Passengers usually provide identification, provide flight information, get their boarding card, and, if necessary, check in any luggage during the SAS check-in process. Through this process, every passenger on the trip is confirmed, and the airline is able to effectively manage its resources.
