Scientist at ICMAB-CSIC Research Center at ICMAB-CSIC from Spain · BELLATERRA
Broadly speaking, my field of expertise is the computer simulation, modelling and theory of softmaterials and self-assembly (including micelles, vesicles, nanoparticles in solution and their interactions with other materials). My perspective is always as applied as possible, as demonstrated by the fact that many of my publications include a collaboration with experimental groups to either apply or validate our simulation and theoretical approaches. Our collaborators also include spin-off companies, As in January of 2020 I have a total of 86 publications in internationally indexed journals (h-index= 23 (Scopus) , i10-index = 53 (Google Scholar)). My recent publications include articles in top journals like Phys Rev Lett (4), Angewandte Chemie (2), J. Am. Chem. Soc (2), ACSnano (1), Adv Func Mat (1) and several invited reviews in different review journals (5). - Jordi Lanuza
Head of Communications and Marketing at Mind the Byte from Spain · Barcelona
I combine education and professional experience in biomedical research and scientific communication. I pursued my PhD at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) studying type 2 diabetes in animal models. It was at this stage when I decided change fields by enrolling in an MSc on Scientific Communication and working as a Public Engagement Officer at IRB Barcelona. Since then I have held several positions including Strategic Network Coordinator at the University of Cambridge and Communications Manager at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology. Currently, I hold two positions: Director of Communications at the startup Mind the Byte and External Referee Selector for the UK’s Medical Research Council. - Jordi Ràfols
