GEMA (Energy Micro-web Storage Managerial)Solar Power is a renewable source of energy that has a major potential. However, its unpredictable and intermittent nature causes deficits and surpluses in its energy flow over time. Energy Micro-web Storage Managerial (GEMA) optimizes the battery and electric grid usage, especially when solar power is the main source of energy, reducing the costs/ raising the incomes of the users by regulating the energy source. Simultaneously, it minimizes costs for administrators by optimizing production and storage chains This is accomplished by a Machine Learning algorithm that predicts surplus and deficits. GEMA automates decision-making and adapts over time to optimize battery and grid usage.

Gemini Vitamin D3 analogues, Synthetic Procedure and ApplicationsA novel synthetic methodology for the preparation of Gemini Vitamin D3 analogues has been developed in this invention. These compounds are currently applied in the treatment of diverse diseases related with the lack of vitamin D. The efficient procedure involves a key chemical transformation (a sigmatropic rearrangement) that provides great versatility and selectivity in the synthesis of this type of compounds . Previous synthetic methods rely on the non-selective generation of the double side chain precursor and the subsequent separation of isomers. Besides, they often require the use of expensive and time-consuming chromatography techniques such as HPLC.UNIVERSIDAD DE BURGOS posted this:
Geo-park: Help people with reduced mobility in their urban movement and parkingApplication designed to solve problems of urban movement and parking, aimed at people with disabilities or reduced mobility. The operation is based on an exchange of information on the availability of places reserved for people with reduced mobility or disability in a specific environment, such as a city, a municipality, etc. The user leaves his position marking the space as in use so that other users know that it is occupied and which are the closest alternative spaces. Currently, the occupancy information is entered by the users themselves, but it is possible to expand it with sensors or other ways of incorporating information on the use and occupancy of a car park.IMDEA Water Institute posted this:
Geomatics laboratory for water resources managementIMDEA Water works on the methodological development and application of different spatial tools to support water resources management, including environmental mapping, remote sensing, the design and implementation of spatial databases and geoportals, applications for provisioning networks, and hydrological and hydrogeological modelling. New spatial information sources (LIDAR, GPS, digital terrain models, high-resolution imaging or drones) enable us to create new, high-resolution thematic mappings. Remote sensing techniques help derive biophysical vegetation variables (vegetation indices, water stress, agricultural output, crop evapotranspiration, etc.), geological mapping, soil usage, etc. Spatial databases record and order this information, forming a Hydrological Information System able to analyse the topological and quantitative relationships of different variables, the development of advanced 3D mapping and its implementation in web geoportals. Hydrogeological modelling by means of individual numerical models and/or coupled with hydrogeochemical models allows us to assess water resources in terms of their quantity and quality, and can be the basis for decision-making on the issue of water resources, both for surface water and groundwater bodies. Combining the extraction of data contained in old mappings and geo-positioning techniques with GPS allows the identification of hydraulic heritage elements for the development of decision-making support strategies.Laser Consult Ltd. posted this:

This mobile multifunctional device has been designed on years of research about the UVC light and its characteristics and the benefits of its high disinfection effect. The difference between the Germinator 1 and the other devices is that other are using empirical references of time (of UVC dose emitted) for certain disinfection without confirmation and live measurement of all the factors that are influencing the efficiency of the process and the iteration effect on the lamps, there so its reliability as well. This is one of the reasons UVC light disinfection always is used as complementary not substitutionary procedure. Green Cements, an innovative way to reduce clinker usage while reusing slagThe production of cement is vital for the economic development of any country, as it is a fundamental pillar of the construction industry. However, it is also one of the most polluting processes in the world, as evidenced by the fact that for every ton of cement produced, 1 ton of CO2 is released into the environment. On the other hand, the copper mining industry generates 2.2 tons of slag per ton produced. To put this into perspective, if a plant processes 1000 tons of copper slag, only 6% is transformed into copper, while the rest is disposed of in tailings, contaminating and affecting the lifespan of the mining plant. Our solution uses this copper slag to produce cement, thus reducing the consumption of clinker by 15%, while maintaining early-age compressive strength, increasing the durability of the mortars used, and all this while reducing the amount of CO2 emitted into the environment. Additionally, it allows for the reuse of a waste product from the copper mining industry.

Green Chemistry for Ketones and Aldehydes ProductionOur technology provides a new type of oxidative cleavage reaction of organic compounds with highly selective product formation. Polyoxometalate (POM) catalysts have become well-known for their utility and diversity in specific reactions. Through the elucidation of POM catalytic pathways, greater versatility has been achieved. This technology is one such application of a novel POM catalyst and is exploited to cleave carbon-carbon double bonds in alkenes (olefins) through an aerobic oxidation reaction.
