Seeking For Technologies thatWe are seeking a solution that eliminates oxides formation from AHSS and promotes surface corrosion inhibition. The solution should be able to be incorporated into a standard electro-deposition coating process (e-coat). Some AHSS are prone to exhibit high surface corrosion with evidence that some of them may present a thicker oxide formation at welded areas. This condition may, therefore affect adhesion of the anti-corrosion coating system, ultimately causing painted components to be more prone to corrosion. We are seeking innovative technologies capable of efficiently and completely remove oxides in AHSS surface and welded areas while promoting surface corrosion inhibition.

Seeking for water electrolysis with a flexible part load capability and low response timeThe availability of hydrogen without CO2-burden at reasonable costs is a crucial key for low carbon chemistry. The water electrolysis with renewable electricity is one technology to provide "green hydrogen". The electrolyser we are looking for must be able to follow rapidly the intermittant availability of renewable electricity from i.e. wind or photovoltaic. The technology must have a highly flexible part-load capability especially in the low range (about 10% of nominal capacity) together with response time to load change in the range of seconds or less. Additionally to fulfill economic requirements the system costs for the electrolyzer must be reasonably below today`s technical solutions.

Seeking Free Water Carry-Over MeasurementTo identify a measurement technique that can robustly and accurately quantify the amount of Free Water carryover (FWCO). Substantial quantities of water are used during the potato washing and slicing processes of PC production. Techniques are used to remove free water carryover (FWOC) before entering the fryer. Any excess water remaining, and water associated with the potatoes is released through the stack during frying. Whilst there are current techniques in place to remove the water used in wash and slice operations being carried over into the fryer, it is not 100% efficient and improvements are being investigated. It is estimated that FWCO can contribute up to 10% of the heating load required. Being able to further reduce the amount of water that is carried over by even a few percent will lead to significant reduction in energy requirement for the frying process and, in turn, reduce GHG emissions. To be able to determine the amount of water that is carried over a robust measurement technique is required.

Seeking groundbreaking Powder Application Technologies - Novel technologies for seasoning application on fabricated potato chipsDuring the production of fabricated potato chips, the application of seasoning is an important but inefficient process. For a demonstration of how such chips are made, please view this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pVhkgYUgo0 The typical method for the application of seasoning is for the chips to pass through a curtain of falling powder. This system has the undesirable side effect of a portion of the seasoning falling between chips. To counter this inefficiency, this seasoning can be recycled for use during later production runs. Unfortunately, the flow characteristics of the powdered seasoning can be negatively impacted by exposure to air or airborne oil particles, limiting reuse potential. Additionally, the need for even coverage across individual chip surfaces and consistency between production lanes can be challenging as well. To improve production efficiency and ensure product quality, we seek the next generation in powder application technologies.
