Luxembourg’s research federation has launched an open innovation platform to create more partnerships and accelerate the transfer of technological innovation.
Announced by Research Luxembourg on 14 March, the platform hosts information on more than 80 technology offers and innovation needs ranging from healthtech to natural resource conservation and supply chain management.
“We want to bring research and industry together in Luxembourg, to experience the industrial and societal challenges that increasingly require interdisciplinary and intersectoral approaches,”said Christophe Haunold, head of partnership, knowledge and technology transfer office at the University of Luxembourg.
Research Luxembourg represents key research bodies in the grand duchy, including the University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg Institute of Health, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, national research fund the FNR, the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research, Luxinnovation and the research ministry.
Previously, the main activities for developing partnerships and technology transfer were by establishing chairs, public-private partnerships, intellectual property, licensing and spin-off creations.
The open innovation platform marks the first time that all offers and innovation needs are listed in one place.
“Most important for us is to use available digital technology promotion tools to create impact to promote our skills and expertise. The aim is to get attention from companies which are out of our network, create new business contacts, and ultimately initiate various partnerships,” said Partnership Development & IP Valorization at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) Fabian Belin.
The platform, which is hosted by Innoget, also features jobs, news and events related to technology transfer and partnerships.
