Head R&D at Green Futures Inc
A chemical engineering professional with 20 years of rich research experience in process design and development of synthesis of products from waste. Notable achievements include development of pilot scale processes for DME fuel synthesis from crop waste (This is one of the few successful projects in world for DME synthesis based on biomass gasification) and amino acids (plant growth regulators) from human hair waste

Thesis: Bioethanol from cheese whey using biofilm fermentation
Investigated development of K.marxianus biofilm on different supports (metal, agro), factors affecting morphology of biofilm. Investigated effect of different variables (substrate concentration, substrate flow rate, temperature, pH) on ethanol productivity for batch and continuous biofilm (K.marxianus on olive pits) fermentation of cheese whey. The developed process can produce ethanol continuously with productivity of (6-7%) v/v .

Dissertation: Galacto-oligosaccharides from cheese whey waste via from lactose hydrolysis
Investigated different techniques for immobilisation beta-galactosidase from K.lactis on hollow fibre membrane. Developed mathematical model for synthesis of oligosaccharides from lactose hydrolysis in cheese whey. Investigated cheese whey hydrolysis at different substrate concentration and flow rate and enzyme concentration on oligosaccharides productivity in enzyme (physical adsorption) membrane bioreactor. The process is able to bring 86% conversion of lactose in cheese whey with galacto-oligosaccharides productivity of 3.5 g/L.

Dissertation: Process design of single step process for synthesis of p-aminophenol (US Patent Process)
Performed design of three phase slurry reactor for single step synthesis of p- aminophenol, an alternative to multi-step and pollution causing conventional BeChamp process. Performed material and energy balance, PFD, P&ID and plant design for 10000 tons/day p-aminophenol production

We have developed gasification based technology that enables single step synthesis of DME (Di-methyl Ether) from crop, animal, forest waste, MSW and Biomass-Plastic. DME is soot-less fuel and sustainable replacement to Diesel and LPG and other emerging applications as Hydrogen carrier in fuel cells […]
