Business Development Manager at Cirrus Materials Science Ltd
Cirrus provides breakthrough surface finishing technologies to Fortune 500 companies who want to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption through the use of new or lightweight materials, advanced production processes, and tougher performance standards. Our focus is on corrosion resistance, low coefficient of friction surfaces, and high-performance electronics. Cirrus also supplies innovative, hard-wearing coating alternatives to hexavalent chromium and cadmium, and VOC free low maintenance alternatives to paint for aluminum and magnesium. As an expert in surface materials, Cirrus can finish complex parts, including 3D printed parts and internal cooling channels. We offer high-performance gold and nickel plating for electronics, as well as hardened nanocomposite electroless nickel plating for marine, geothermal, and high strength steel applications. As a provider of anodizing, polishing and plating services, Cirrus can offer a Strategic Sourcing Option for local manufacturers requiring production to global and mil-spec standards and as a world-leader in sustainable chemistry, Cirrus can offer enhanced protection and performance in harsh environments, extend the life of major components and reducing maintenance requirements.

While light metals such as aluminum and titanium alloys are essential to many industries and applications, the coatings required to provide useful functional properties (especially corrosion resistance) can be costly in terms of energy, raw materials, or health and safety; and challenging to apply consistently and with satisfactory adhesion. Cirrus Hybrid™ coating technology for light metals low-cost alternative that electrodeposits an engineered thin-film coating that bonds tightly to the substrate and provides excellent corrosion and wear resistance along with superior electrical and thermal performance. As a new process, the Hybrid™ technology offers a stable, low-cost option to manufacturers and applicators seeking to improve and extend their use of light metal substrates. This paper updates the art on this innovation and shares a widening scope of application for this novel coating technology.
