CEO- COFOUNDER Ypsicon Advanced Technologies SL, YPSICON ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES (YPSICON) is an EBT (technology-based company) created at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2011 after exclusivity transfer of the Patent (UHPH), dedicated to the development of new technologies for the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry, as well as the design, development and manufacture of components and production lines based on its innovative patented technology.
The UHPH was conceived in its line of research by one of the founding partners, and also Business Angel, the professor of food technology Buenaventura Guamis López, with previous European Research Project. The initiative of a business creation and exploitation plan was presented by Alex Guamis Alegre to the University (UAB), Ypsicon is created as EBT to achieve a scalable and reliable technology for industrial use.
The (UHPH) combines ultra-high pressure and its physical forces, with moderate temperature control at the input and output of the process. Being a revolution comparable to what was in its day the (UHT) for the treatment of processed fluids in multiple sectors of the industry. This technology allows to reach a peak temperature in Valve of just a few hundredths of a second. Achieving results equivalent to (UHT), but avoiding thermal damage on the products, and preserving all the organoleptic properties, both flavor and vitamins, as if the product were freshly made. All process products have a long life at room temperature, once packaged in Brick or Pet. For large industry, it is also a revolutionary technology to obtain high added value products and distribute them at room temperature without the need to refrigerate them, simplifying all their distribution logistics.
The (UHPH) combines ultra-high pressure and its physical forces with moderate temperature control at the inlet and outlet of the process. Being a revolution comparable to what was in its day the (UHT) for the treatment of processed fluids in multiple sectors of the industry.
It is also a technology that homogenizes and stabilizes, avoiding precipitation in liquid products, which were previously partially solved with the addition of additives, and which now would not be necessary. Saving costs in production and being able to offer sales arguments to marketing departments. After several years of research and development with a NEOTEC project in 2012, other RETOS projects, and HORIZONTE PYME DE MINECO (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness). YPSICON has scaled this technology from its initial concept and small laboratory equipment, towards a disruptive industrial reality, to which we must add patent protection in the main markets of the world. It has been tested in all of them (Europe, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, India, China, and South Korea) a current market of 4 billion potential consumers.
