R&D Electronics Engineer
EPIC Semiconductors is a fabless technology company based in 2008 in Vancouver which is hiring an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team in the development of new products based on our patented technology of microscopic AI chips with sensing features. EPIC chips are RF-free, battery free and can be embedded into countless different objects for future specific applications.
Responsibilities include:
-Collaborate on Research and Development of prototypes
-Assemble prototypes and execute pre-production tests
-Design experiments of product development
-Schematize the structure of electronics
-Review models, create CAD schemes, improve electronics hardware systems
-Develop software systems to control circuits and electronic segments
-Evaluate off the shelf and custom drivers, components, PCBs, PCAs, etc.
-Ensure the correct testing, aware of the causes of failures and data collection
-Ensure the proper regulations, design and quality standards by IPC FCC, IC etc. are met
-PCB designing, soldering, prototyping and testing by using digital and analog techniques
-Script (Python, MATLAB), CPLD/FPGA/RTL integration expertise, embedded firmware (C,Java), and Verilog
-Ability to resiliently rework, analyze PCBs
-Perform presentations for technical audience
-Work with tight deadlines
Requirements:
-Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field
-5+ years of experience in Engineering (preferred)
-Good knowledge in Biomedical Engineering (preferred)
-Detail orientation
-Expertise in electronic, analog and digital knowledge
-Expertise in programming MCUs
-Experience in Ethernet and I/O interfaces
-Knowledge of Eagle, Scopy, Arduino, MPlab, Quartus, Tina
-Knowledge of EMI and EMC testing, plus safety certification experience is an asset
-Please note occasional availability for business trips may be asked
Salary: TBD
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
