Pilot Plant Supervisor
Job description
The Pilot Plant Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the Valhalla Pilot Plant Team providing Pepsi’s R&D with the highest quality product that meets all Safe, Stable and Legal requirements. The Team in Valhalla supports our extensive beverage business, not just in North America, but around the world.
Provide leadership in a team environment that supports the needs of the business units and pilot plant.
Lead scheduling and production planning of Technical center projects per trial request and required asset in support of R&D work plan
Schedule and facilitate weekly scheduling meeting with clients. Review scheduled trial requests prior to and during meeting, identify inconsistencies/conflicts and inform client & supervisor to resolve.
Measure daily performance by 1) batching accuracy, 2) line and production documentation accuracy 3) production throughput accuracy
Support/lead on-line trial request / schedule system (Process Gallery) implementation & improvement
Request approval process
Calendar utilization
Request accuracy
Coordinate inventory for central stock ingredients and packaging – measure by out of stock situations
Replenishment as needed using qualified suppliers
Manage Pilot Plant Procurement process
Manage packaging/ingredient inventories
Maintain sufficient supply at all items
Use current inventory management system for traceability
SOP’s
Pro-actively communicate cross-functionally with the Business Units, Warehouse, Purchasing, Maintenance, Analytical, Microbiology, Safety, QA/Food Safety and Sanitation groups.
Food Safety
Member of the Pilot Plant Food Safety Team
Support commercial production documentation
Supervise Pilot Plant personnel

Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum bachelor’s degree with 15 year’s beverage manufacturing experience.
Ability to establish priorities
Strong leadership skills
Computer literacy with Word & Excel experience
Good communication skills
Hands-on experience using industry standard software QA tools a must
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent test resource planning, organizational and test scheduling skills
Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization from senior management down to staff level
